We work hard at the gym, we pay attention to everything that goes into our bodies. We are determined to lose or gain the weight and build the muscle that our goals demand. | | | Pumping up | | Posted Tuesday, November 14, 2006 11:37:14 AM by Blog57 Team | | Ever wondered how competitive bodybuilders bulk up naturally? Ever aspire to have a Schwarzenegger-like physique? We asked two local championship bodybuilders, Robin Thomas and Betty Pariso, what it takes to get competition-ready and whether just anyone can do it. Warning: Don't think you're too old to start. Pariso started bodybuilding professionally at age 40. (See "Who they are," below.) Q: How is bodybuilding different from personal fitness training? Thomas: Bodybuilding is about pushing your body to the extreme. The training and diet are a lot more structured and intense; it becomes almost a full-time job when you are getting ready for an event. The preparation is a year in the making. You have to eat to gain 20 to 30 pounds, then for the last 12 weeks totally change your diet to maintain as much muscle mass as possible while losing as much body fat as possible....

| | | WRESTLER S EYE VIEW SAYS GOODBYE TO SPUTNIK MONROE, K FED, BIG DICK JOHNSON, TAKER AND KANE AND MORE | | Posted Friday, November 10, 2006 11:29:22 PM by Blog57 Team | | I want to start this column by saying goodbye to my old friend Sputnik Monroe who passed away last week. There have been several columns elsewhere so I will be direct and to the point, which was the way Sputty was during his life. It has been mentioned he was a character, and that is true. A character who kept the dressing room loose and laughing when he was in it. An old time character that wasnt afraid to help the younger guys coming up, nor afraid to get in their faces and tell them the facts of life as they pertained to our business. He was indeed one of a kind, and sadly would not be welcomed into the corporate dressing rooms of today. I first met and worked with him in 1963 in Wichita, Kansas and it was part of my business education. We worked several territories over the years and I am proud to say that I was able to sit and talk to him the last time we were in the same building during the annual Gulf Coast Wrestlers Reunion in Mobile in 2005.... | |

| | | Testosterone is Out: Make Way For ATP Based Muscle Builders | | Posted Tuesday, November 07, 2006 3:15:38 PM by Blog57 Team | | (PRWEB) November 6, 2006 -- What is Kyno H? Kyno-H is the legal version of the veterinary compound Kynoselen, produced in France. It's part of a new generation of muscle builders called "ATP based anabolics". You may know this already, but ATP is the chemical your body needs to do anything and everything. (Your eyes are using ATP to read this right now!) Adenosine 5'-triphosphate (ATP) was discovered in 1929 by Karl Lohmann. It is primarily known in biochemistry as the "molecular currency" of intracellular energy transfer. ATP is the main transporter of chemical energy within cells and is produced as an energy source during the processes of photosynthesis and cellular respiration. .... | |

| | | Big bodybuilding event returns to Poughkeepsie | | Posted Saturday, October 28, 2006 7:14:47 AM by Blog57 Team | | Please excuse Matt Johnson if he seems a bit out-of-sorts this week. Johnson, the manager of the House of Nutrition in the Arlington section of Poughkeepsie near Vassar College, is equal parts stressed out and thrilled as he prepares for the sixth annual INBF New York State Bodybuilding and Figure Championships. That's because this year's show is the biggest and most likely the best since its inception. The event will be held Saturday at Poughkeepsie High School. Pre-judging starts at 1 p.m. The main-event finals begin at 7 p.m. As of Wednesday afternoon, Johnson confirmed that this year's show already will be the biggest in event history. A total of 79 bodybuilders had registered for the event, with 10 more giving verbal commitments to compete. That tops the previous high of 77 muscle-bound athletes taking the stage.... | |

| | | 15th Asian Games Doha 2006/Bodybuilding: Games medal more important | | Posted Tuesday, October 24, 2006 11:10:23 PM by Blog57 Team | | NATIONAL bodybuilder Sazali Samad may be gunning for his third Mr Universe title in the Czech Republic but, more importantly, will be using the event in Ostrava on Oct 26-30 to boost his gold medal hope in the Asian Games. "Although, it will be a big achievement to win my third Mr Universe title, it will mean nothing if I fail in Doha," said Sazali, who will be competing in the bantamweight category (65kg) in the World Amateur Bodybuilding Championships. Sazali is giving priority to the Asian Games because he wants to make amends and repay the country after failing to compete in the 2002 Busan Games due to a suspension which was imposed by Asian Bodybuilding Federation for appearing in a dietary supplement advertisement. "It was painful to watch the team go without me to Busan.... | |

Especially to build a better body. They help you set specific goals and are tied strongly to a deadline. And iSatori's Best Body Contest, as well as their offshoots with the local area Police Departments and Civil servants, have gained in popularity (and competition) each year. But Stephen Adele, CEO of iSatori, wanted to give his customers and readers of his newsletter through their popular Message Board on his site (at http://www.RealSolutionsMag.com) a completely different kind of contest and help stretch their minds as well as motivate them to improve their bodies. That's why he asked them to "Write a headline for iSatori's new MX-LS7 and win!" "Have you ever wondered whether you have what it takes to write copy for an advertisement?" asked Adele, "Well, if you're feeling lucky today......
